VCK-Communist Parties Welcome To Join AIADMK-BJP Alliance: EPS
Edappadi Palaniswami, General Secretary of AIADMK, has invited VCK and Communist parties to reconsider their alliance with DMK ahead of elections. He criticises DMK’s denial of event permissions, suggesting a shift in political alliances may be necessary for these parties.
Edappadi Palaniswami, the General Secretary of AIADMK, has extended an invitation to VCK and Communist parties to join their alliance. He assured them a warm welcome if they choose to leave the DMK coalition. Palaniswami questioned the necessity of enduring humiliation by staying with DMK, especially when permission for their conferences is being denied.
Recently, Edappadi Palaniswami criticised Thirumavalavan and the Communist parties during his district tours. He highlighted that permission was not granted for the Communist party's conference in Villupuram and similarly denied for VCK's event in Trichy. He urged these parties to reconsider their alliance with DMK under such circumstances.

AIADMK's Strategic Moves
The AIADMK-BJP alliance has been formed with just nine months left for the assembly elections. In this context, Palaniswami is touring various constituencies to strengthen their position. During his visit to Chidambaram, he reiterated AIADMK's readiness to welcome new allies with open arms.
Thirumavalavan had previously declared that VCK would never join an alliance with BJP or PMK. This statement came after BJP members invited him to join their coalition. Despite past alliances, Thirumavalavan has consistently aligned with DMK since 2019, except briefly in 2016 when he joined the People's Welfare Front.
VCK's Position and Expectations
VCK is expecting more seats from DMK in upcoming elections. Thirumavalavan has communicated this expectation directly to Stalin. With growing support for VCK in northern districts, AIADMK's direct invitation raises questions about Thirumavalavan's response.
In 2006, VCK had allied with AIADMK but ended it within a year due to differences. Since then, Thirumavalavan has remained with DMK, except for a brief period in 2016. The current political scenario poses a dilemma for VCK regarding its future alliances.
The AIADMK leader emphasised that alliances should be formed based on prevailing circumstances. His recent remarks have sparked curiosity about how Thirumavalavan will respond to AIADMK's offer amidst increasing support for VCK in certain regions.
The political landscape is dynamic as parties strategise ahead of elections. The decision of VCK could significantly impact the balance of power among Tamil Nadu's political alliances.
