Unrest in Tamil Nadu- Two IPS officers get emergency postings
The Tamil Nadu police have been on alert since Sunday evening after news of Jayalalithaa's cardiac arrest broke
The Tamil Nadu government on Monday gave emergency postings to two IPS officers as precautionary measure towards law and order maintenance. IPS officers M C Sarangan who is currently IG, Technical services and another IG rank officer, Jayaraman have been given emergency posting of Inspector General of Police Law and Order in Chennai. The move comes in the wake of Tamil Nadu being on high alert.

The Tamil Nadu police have been on alert since Sunday evening after news of Jayalalithaa's cardiac arrest broke. All personnel were asked to return to work by the order of the DGP. Additional forces have been deployed in all areas marked as sensitive including outside Apollo Hospital in Chennai.
