This Tamil Nadu Pre Poll Survey Looks Like Fixed Match: DMK's Saravanan Rejects AIADMK Victory Prediction

DMK spokesperson Saravanan Annadurai has slammed the latest election predictions on upcoming Tamil Nadu elections, calling it a "fixed match".

The CNN News18-Vote Tracker survey has predicted that the AIADMK will return to power in the upcoming polls.

According to the survey, when asked who they wish to see as the next Chief Minister, both DMK president MK Stalin and AIADMK's EPS received 39% each, while actor-politician Vijay trailed with 14%. On the question of which party's manifesto stands out, the AIADMK led with 39%, followed by the DMK on 34%. Crucially, the vote share projection placed the AIADMK on 41% against the DMK's 39%, with the TVK on 12%. The seat forecast was even more striking: the AIADMK is predicted to win between 130 and 140 seats, the DMK just 90-100, and the TVK a mere two to six.

Responding sharply to the findings, DMK spokesperson Saravanan Annadurai took to social media with a blistering attack. "Hello @CNNnews18, this pre-poll survey looks like a fixed match between the survey organisation and the political consultancy firm working for the AIADMK party," he wrote. "How could it be a fair one? Won't this affect your credibility? You could have at least said it was an internal survey of the AIADMK party. The people of Tamil Nadu will not accept these artificially created opinions."

Political analysts note that pre-poll surveys in Tamil Nadu have a mixed track record, and the DMK's aggressive dismissal may be an attempt to rally its base against a perceived media conspiracy. Nevertheless, the CNN News18-Vote Tracker remains one of the most watched indicators in the run-up to the elections.

As the debate rages online and on the campaign trail, one thing is clear: with both major parties locked at 39% in the Chief Minister preference, the actual battle is far from over.

Meanwhile, another survey has claimed that the DMK will return power by registering a landslide victory. The Stalin-led government is likely to bag 159-165 seats while AIADMK is predicted to win 64-70 seats.
