Tamil Nadu Weather Update: Chennai Wakes Up To Cool Morning, More Rains Expected In KTCC
Chennai residents experienced a cool start to the day as midnight thunderstorms brought relief from the heat, but also led to waterlogging and slippery roads in some areas. Commuters are advised to be cautious as traffic may be affected by these conditions.
The Regional Meteorological Department has forecasted light thunderstorms, lightning, and light to moderate rain on Saturday morning. Rain is expected in isolated parts of Chennai, Tiruvallur, Chengalpattu, and Kanchipuram.

Additionally, Vellore, Ranipet, Villupuram, Kallakurichi, Cuddalore, Tiruvannamalai, and Mayiladuthurai are predicted to receive moderate rainfall.
Chennai has been witnessing consistently close to 40°C in the last few days and the rains have given the much-needed relief. However, it has to be seen whether it will impact the ongoing India versus Bangladesh test match played at the Chepauk.
Weather blogger "Chennai Rains" shared on X: "As Chennai wakes up to a cool morning thanks to midnight thunderstorms over many places, here's a detailed post on why we can now look forward to some much-needed rains and a gradual relief from the heat for most of Tamil Nadu. While South and West TN may not see much rain in the coming days, North TN and parts of the Delta can expect good showers. Towards the end of next week, the rest of Tamil Nadu will likely experience thunderstorms."
Even weather interpreter R Pradeep John (PJ), who gives weather updates on his social media page Tamil Nadu Weatherman, said that the hot days in the KTCC (Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur, Chengalpattu, Chennai) are over and the regions will witness midnight and early morning rains in the coming days.
