Tamil Nadu Weather: Several districts in Tamil Nadu will witness rains for the next two days, as per the latest bulletin of the Regional Meterological Centre.
Districts That Will Get Heavy Rains For Next 2 Days
The weather agency has issued a yellow alert for Ramanathapuram and Pudukottai districts for today. On Tuesday, Pudukottai, Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam and Mayiladuthurai districts along with Karaikal will get heavy rains.

Chennai is expected to receive light rainfall in some areas during this period. The city will witness generally cloudy skies with maximum temperatures hovering around 35-36°C and minimum temperatures settling between 27-28°C.
The state has been experiencing significant temperature variations in recent days. On Sunday, Vellore recorded the highest maximum temperature at 38.7°C, followed by Salem (38.4°C), Madurai (38°C), Tiruchirappalli (37.7°C) and Tiruthani (37.5°C). Chennai registered 35.1°C, while Karur Paramathi recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 17.0°C.
However, the temperatures are expected to gradually increase over north Tamil Nadu and adjoining South from today with good chance for the next round 40°C to happen later this week, weather blogger Chennai Rains said in a social media post. The state capital Chennai to expected to cross 40°C for the first time this summer.

Rainfall activity has been particularly pronounced in southern parts of the state. Several areas reported substantial precipitation, including Perunchani Dam and Puthan Dam in Kanyakumari district and Elumalai in Madurai district, which all received 8 cm of rainfall each. Many other locations across southern Tamil Nadu recorded between 5-7 cm of rainfall.

Meanwhile, maximum temperatures have risen by 2-3°C at a few places over Tamil Nadu, while remaining generally stable across the rest of the state and in Puducherry-Karaikal regions. The plains of interior Tamil Nadu continue to experience high temperatures in the 35-39°C range, while coastal areas remain slightly cooler at 34-36°C.
The meteorological department has advised residents in affected districts to stay alert for possible weather-related disruptions and to follow official updates. Farmers have been cautioned to take necessary precautions for standing crops in the wake of the forecasted heavy rainfall.
