Stalin Leads DMK's Mupperum Vizha, Honors Periyar, Anna, and Kalaignar Awardees

DMK is celebrating Mupperum Vizha (triple celebrations) grandiosely today in Vellore. Mupperum Vizha marks the annual celebration of 3 events - the birth anniversary of Periyar, foundation day of DMK and the birth anniversary of Annadurai (September 15). DMK's leader and Chief Minister Stalin led the event in which senior members and DMK ministers participated.

In the event, CM Stalin presented Periyar, Anna and Kalaignar awards to Sathyaseelan, Sundaram and Periyasamy respectively. CM Stalin said, "it was Vellore that sowed the quest for freedom struggle in India and it was Karunanidhi who established a pillar in Vellore to honour Vellore mutiny. It is fitting that the Karunanidhi centenary was held in Vellore, because Karunanidhi has brought various welfare schemes to Vellore".

Continuing his speech, CM Stalin spoke about the past achievements of DMK on its foundation day celebrations. Also while praising about Durai Murugan, CM said, "Duraimurugan was the one who is seeing me from my childhood. He was the one who filled the void created after the death of Karunanidhi and Anbazhagan, by comforting and guiding me in their absence."

While praising about DMK CM Stalin said, "Anna, the founder of DMK said that he was an ordinary person and Karunanidhi considered members as his own siblings. I was made leader because of the will of the DMK's volunteers. DMK has been young since its inception with a total strength of 2 crore volunteers."

He continued, "Bricks are the first thing to be laid during the construction of any building. During the opening ceremony the brick will be covered and flowers will beautify the building. But, those flowers fall off in a few days but bricks are permanent. DMK is a movement where volunteers are united like bricks. Everyone here is principled."

Finally he said, "This triple festival is taking place at a very important time when we are making Tamilnadu the best state in the country. It's crucial for the DMK members to stay united because BJP is trying to destroy the development of Tamil Nadu by denying the GST share knowing tax revenue is important for the development of any state. BJP is also trying to destroy the education system with NEP but this Mupperum Vizha came at the right time showing the strength of DMK and the strength of its principles."

Minister of Youth and Sports development Udhayanidhi Stalin said, "The Mupperum Vizha happening during the Karunanidhi century will remain in history and DMK is the only party in the country that recognizes those who have worked hard for the movement. The proof to that is the honouring of senior members by recognising their hard work and presenting gold to them. So far we have given 30 crore worth gold to senior executives in 30 districts."

He continued, "Karunanidhi said that this movement cannot be touched by any evil minded spirits which is true because DMK always enjoys the support of people. Even now many people are congratulating me in Vellore for the launch of Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai Thittam".
