Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker reportedly walked out of an event in Chennai after a reporter questioned her mother about a viral video involving javelin star Neeraj Chopra.

The 22-year-old shooter was attending a felicitation ceremony at Velammal Nexus School, where she fielded several questions from journalists, according to a report in Hindustan Times.

During the event, a reporter asked Bhaker about wrestler Vinesh Phogat's recent disqualification and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) verdict on her appeal. The question, which touched on a politically charged topic, prompted a cautious response from Bhaker. However, the situation quickly escalated when another reporter turned their attention to her mother, Sumedha Bhaker.

"What was your conversation with Neeraj (Chopra)?" the reporter inquired, referring to the viral video from the Paris Olympics 2024 that had sparked widespread speculation online.

According to a report by Sportstar, this question was the tipping point for Manu Bhaker, who chose to leave the event rather than address the personal query.

The viral clips in question show Neeraj Chopra engaging in friendly conversations with both Manu Bhaker and her mother during the Paris Olympics. In one video, Chopra is seen chatting with Manu, while in another, he is animatedly talking to Sumedha Bhaker, who holds his hand during the exchange.

The videos, which have amassed over a million views on X (formerly Twitter), led to playful speculation among fans that Sumedha Bhaker might be sizing up Chopra as a potential match for her daughter.

This speculation prompted a wave of social media chatter, with many fans suggesting that Manu Bhaker and Neeraj Chopra would make a great couple. However, Manu's father, Ram Kishan Bhaker, addressed the rumours last week, stating that his daughter is "still too young" and that the family is "not thinking of her marriage."
