Gold & Silver Price In Chennai On February 11: Is it Cheaper or Costlier In TN Capital Today?

Gold prices in Chennai continued their upward march on Wednesday, February 11, reflecting steady demand in the domestic market. As of 10:45 am, 24 Karat gold is priced at ₹15,814 per gram, taking the rate for 10 grams to ₹1,58,140, the data on Bullions website stated.

The price for 100 grams stands at ₹15,81,400, while one kilogram of pure gold costs ₹1,58,14,000. In international weight terms, one ounce of 24K gold is valued at ₹4,48,319, and one tola is priced at ₹1,84,452, as per the data.

The yellow metal has recorded a noticeable uptick. The price of 24 Karat gold per 10 grams has risen to ₹1,56,970, marking a gain of 0.75%. The steady increase indicates firm investor sentiment and consistent jewellery demand, especially as the wedding season approaches in Tamil Nadu.

Among other purities, 22 Karat gold - widely used for jewellery - is being sold at ₹14,496 per gram. The rate for 10 grams stands at ₹1,44,962, while 100 grams cost ₹14,49,617. One kilogram of 22K gold is priced at ₹1,44,96,167. For buyers looking at slightly lower purities, 20 Karat gold is available at ₹13,178 per gram and ₹1,31,783 for 10 grams.

Meanwhile, 18 Karat gold is priced at ₹11,861 per gram (₹1,18,605 per 10 grams), making it a relatively affordable option for studded and designer jewellery. Lower purity categories such as 16K, 14K, 12K, and 10K are also witnessing proportional pricing, with 14 Karat gold currently at ₹9,225 per gram and 10 Karat gold at ₹6,589 per gram.

Chennai Silver Rates Today

Silver prices in Chennai are also holding firm today. Silver 999 Fine is priced at ₹260 per gram, with 10 grams costing ₹2,597. The rate for 100 grams stands at ₹25,973, while one kilogram is priced at ₹2,59,730. In ounce terms, silver is valued at ₹7,363, and one tola costs ₹3,029.

Sterling silver (925 purity) is trading at ₹240 per gram and ₹2,403 for 10 grams. Other variants such as 900 coin silver and 800 German silver are priced at ₹234 and ₹208 per gram, respectively.

Silver 999 has also shown strength, with the kilogram rate noted at ₹2,53,560, indicating positive momentum in the white metal segment.

Market observers say that both gold and silver prices are being influenced by global cues, currency fluctuations, and safe-haven buying trends.
