As Amma remains in hospital, Kamal Haasan refuses to celebrate his birthday

By Oneindia Staff Writer

Chennai, Oct 25: Every year fans of Tamil superstar, Kamal Haasan, host mega events to celebrate the birthday of their icon on November 7.

However, this year, perhaps there won't be any celebration at all as the versatile actor-director has asked his fans not to host any birthday bash.

Kamal Haasan not to celebrate his b'day

Haasan, who will turn 62 this year, has taken the decision as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa is unwell and undergoing treatment in a hospital.

"In the light of Tamil Nadu chief minister's health, I request my fan clubs to avoid celebrating my birthday," the actor wrote on Twitter.

The 68-year-old AIADMK supremo is undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospitals, Greams Road in Chennai, since September 22.

Ever since Amma (as the CM is popularly known to her supporters) has been admitted to the hospital, life in the southern state, especially in Chennai, has changed a lot.

With the entire police and administrative machineries busy in attending to the chief minister in the hospital, Jayalalithaa's supporters are conducting mass prayers across the state for their leader's speedy recovery.

Many people have courted arrest after they posted "allegedly" wrong information about AIADMK supremo's health status.

Now, with the latest decision of Haasan, who has a huge following in the state, maybe we won't see big birthday and wedding celebrations in Tamil Nadu till Jayalalithaa remains in hospital.
