Gold, Silver Prices Today, March 5: Yellow Metal Continues Upward Trend; Check City-Wise Rates
Gold prices maintained their upward trajectory on Wednesday, 5th March 2025, as demand for the safe-haven asset remained strong, driven by persistent global trade tensions.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the gold April contract opened at ₹85,931 per 10 grams, a decline of ₹95 from the previous close of ₹86,026.

However, within minutes of trading, prices rebounded, reaching a high of ₹86,026. During this period, the price briefly touched a low of ₹85,869.
At the time of writing, the contract was trading at ₹86,009, reflecting a marginal decline of ₹17 or 0.02% from the previous close. Earlier this year, gold futures hit their highest level at ₹86,592 per 10 grams.
Similarly, silver futures, maturing on 5th May 2025, saw gains in early trade. The contract opened at ₹96,400 per kg on the MCX, marking an increase of ₹144 from the previous close of ₹96,256. It later rose further, reaching a high of ₹96,726.
At the time of writing, silver was trading at ₹96,715, up by ₹459 or 0.48% from the previous close. Last year, silver futures reached an all-time high of ₹1,00,081 per kg.
Gold Prices in the International Market
In the international market, COMEX gold was trading at approximately $2,922.4 per troy ounce. Meanwhile, the spot gold price stood at around $2,912.56 per ounce at 10:10 AM.
