RCB IPL Victory Stampede: Bengaluru Metro Records All-Time High with 9.6 Lakh Commuters in One Day
Bengaluru Metro recorded a record-breaking ridership of 9,66,732 commuters on Wednesday, June 4, during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) victory celebrations.
The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) reported a nearly threefold increase in passengers, with 4,78,334 commuters on the Purple Line (Line 1) and 2,84,674 on the Green Line (Line 2).

By 9 pm, the total boarding count was 8.7 lakh, with close to one lakh passengers traveling between 9 pm and the end of service. The Kempegowda Station (KGWA) interchange saw heavy footfall, registering 2,03,724 commuters.

Key Central Business District stations such as Cubbon Park, Vidhana Soudha, MG Road, and Sir M. Visvesvaraya reported significant passenger movement, contributing to the surge.
The BMRCL attributed the increase in ridership to the large crowds attending the RCB victory events.
