The sex tape controversy involving HD Deve Gowda's grandson, Prajwal Revanna, took a new turn when Prajwal's former driver, Karthik Gowda, released a video statement.

Earlier, the JD(S) had accused Karthik of leaking the videos to the Congress, but Karthik clarified that he had only given the videos and pictures to BJP leader Devaraje Gowda.

Reports of Karthik being missing surfaced, prompting former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy to claim that Karthik was in Malaysia and question who had sent him there.

"The driver's video statement has been released... where is Karthik? Where was the video recorded and released from? Why was the video hastily made and given to news channels? Who was behind it? He is in Malaysia," Kumaraswamy stated.
