23-Year-Old Kerala Youth Attempts Suicide At Jalahalli Namma Metro Station, Disrupts Green Line Services
A 23-year-old man narrowly escaped tragedy on Friday evening when he attempted suicide by jumping onto the tracks at Jalahalli Namma Metro station in Bengaluru. Quick action by metro staff allowed for his prompt rescue and subsequent hospitalization. However, the incident caused temporary disruption to namma metro green line services on the Yeswantpur-Nagasandra route.

At around 7:12 PM, a person from Alappuzha district of Kerala who is employed at a factory in Abbigere, jumped onto the tracks of Jalahalli Metro station. He was immediately rescued by alert metro staff and rushed to Sanjeevini Hospital at Mahalakshmi Layout, where his condition is currently critical.
The Peenya police have registered a case and are investigating the matter, including interviewing the young man's friend who was present at the station. Due to the temporary suspension of train services, passengers were advised to disembark at Yeshwantpur metro station until further notice.
In a recent incident at the Indira Nagar metro station, a woman accidentally fell onto the tracks while trying to retrieve her phone. While she was eventually rescued, concerns were raised regarding the perceived lack of punctuality by some BMRCL personnel in responding to the situation.
