Karnataka Weather Alert: Will Bengaluru Get Soaked? Check Localised Rain Threat Forecast
Residents in parts of Bengaluru can expect isolated bouts of moderate to heavy rain on Tuesday evening as a partially formed weather system moves through the city. According to the latest forecast, parts of north, northwest, central, and southwest Bengaluru, including IISc, Yeshwantpur, and Malleswaram, are expected to start receiving rain between 4:40 PM and 6:00 PM.
Weather enthusiasts have indicated that conditions are becoming increasingly favorable for rainfall across Bengaluru.

Gust fronts, which are narrow bands of strong winds associated with thunderstorms, are approaching the city from the west and southeast. These winds are expected to create the necessary conditions for the formation of rain clouds, leading to scattered showers across specific areas.
Timing and Intensity: The weather expert predicts isolated moderate to heavy rain spells starting around 4:30 PM and continuing until 11:00 PM.
Despite the large system surrounding Bengaluru, weather experts have noted that there are currently no significant favorable systems directly affecting the city. This suggests that while some areas will experience substantial rainfall, it may not be as widespread or consistent as a fully developed weather system would produce.
Areas to Watch
North and Northwest Bengaluru: Residents in these regions should expect moderate to heavy rainfall starting around 4:40 PM. The rainfall is likely to persist for over an hour, impacting daily commutes and outdoor activities. Areas such as IISc and Yeshwantpur are specifically mentioned in the forecast.
Central Bengaluru: The heart of the city, including commercial and residential districts, is also on alert for heavy rain. The expected downpour could affect traffic and lead to waterlogging in low-lying areas.
Southwest Bengaluru: Similar to the north and northwest regions, the southwest parts of the city are expected to receive considerable rainfall. Residents in these areas should take necessary precautions to deal with the expected weather conditions.
Given the forecast, residents are advised to stay updated with the latest weather information and plan their activities accordingly. Commuters should prepare for potential delays and consider alternative routes to avoid areas prone to flooding. It is also advisable to secure outdoor items that could be damaged or displaced by heavy rain and strong winds.
