Karnataka Weather Alert: Rains To Make A Comeback On December 19, Foggy Chill Lingers
As Bengaluru steps out of a spell of rain, temperatures have dipped noticeably, ushering in colder days. This shift has brought dense fog, not just in the early mornings but stretching into the afternoons, intensifying the region's chill. The weather department forecasts another round of rainfall after December 19, which may slightly ease the cold but raises concerns over potential crop damage.
The expected return of rains could soften the cold's bite but also risks agricultural damage, a concern for the region's farmers. This shift in weather patterns, transitioning from wet to cold conditions, illustrates the unpredictable nature of the season. Currently, areas including Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Bengaluru City, among others, are experiencing dry weather. However, forecasts suggest rainfall might resume in five days, affecting a wide span from Bengaluru Rural to Vijayanagar.

Temperature readings across various locations paint a diverse climatic picture. For instance, Bijapur experienced a low of 14.0 degrees Celsius, while HAL in Bengaluru reported a slightly warmer climate with a minimum of 17.8 degrees Celsius. The temperature spectrum extends to Karwar, recording a high of 34.2 degrees Celsius, showcasing the varied thermal conditions across the region. Other cities like Bagalkot and Dharwad also reported temperatures reflecting the broad range of weather currently affecting the state.
The meteorological department's forecast signals a shift in weather patterns, with the possibility of rain after the 19th threatening to alter the cold spell. While the damp conditions might ease the cold, they bring concerns over crop well-being, emphasizing the need for preparedness among the agricultural community. This weather transition, from the anticipated dry period to potential rainfall, underscores the importance of staying informed and ready for changing conditions.
