Karnataka Dam Water Level Today: Karnataka is witnessing a substantial rise in water levels across its 14 major reservoirs, essential for water supply, drinking water needs, and electricity production. As of August 1, these reservoirs are nearing their maximum capacity due to persistent heavy rainfall.

The Cauvery and Kapila rivers are flowing above the danger mark in several areas of Mysuru, Mandya, and Chamarajanagar districts. Flooding has impacted 134 families across eight villages in Mysuru district alone, with officials noting that the Hemmige bridge, connecting T Narasipura to Talakadu, has been submerged by the overflowing Cauvery.

In response to the severe rain, authorities have banned tourists from visiting Shivanasamudra, Bharachukki, Hogenakal, Wellesley Bridge, KRS dam, and Brindavan Gardens until Friday, August 2. Additionally, the Krishna Raja Sagara (KRS) dam has recorded an unprecedented outflow of 1.7 lakh cusecs of water, the highest since the 1990s.

Meanwhile, the crest gates of the Linganamakki dam, located on the Sharavathi River, were opened to release excess water. Out of the 11 gates, three were opened around 11 a.m.

Basava Sagar Dam, formerly known as Narayanpura Dam, is constructed across the Krishna River in Yadgir District, Karnataka. The reservoir it creates, Basava Sagar, has a total storage capacity of 37.965 TMCFT (1.075 km³).

Tunga Anicut Dam:
Location: Tunga River, near Shimoga
Reservoir Level: 1,630.81 ft
Reservoir Capacity: 97.14 TMC
Inflow Details: 125,373 Cusecs
Outflow Details: 154,706 Cusecs
The Tunga Anicut Dam sees moderate rains over Koppa, Sringeri, and Tirthahalli taluks, resulting in moderate flooding of the Tunga River.

Krishna Raja Sagara Dam (KRS):
Location: Mandya District, Cauvery River
Maximum Capacity: 49,452 M.Cft
Current Storage: 47,311 M.Cft
Current Level: 123.25 Feet
Inflow: 95,502 cusecs
Outflow: 1,03,222 Cusecs
Serving as a crucial lifeline for irrigation and drinking water, the KRS Dam continues to play a pivotal role in enhancing agricultural productivity and ensuring water sustainability in the region.

Kabini Dam:
Current Storage: 18,070 M.Cft
Maximum Capacity: 19,516 M.Cft
Current Level: 62.72 Feet
Inflow: 54,137 Cusecs
Outflow: 70,750 Cusecs
The Kabini Dam also has substantial storage and continues to be a key water source for the region.
