Hampi Utsav 2025: A Three-Day Cultural Extravaganza Begins February 28
Hampi Utsav 2025: From February 28 to March 2, 2025, Hampi will come alive with the cultural and historic celebration known as Hampi Utsav. This annual festival, deeply rooted in the traditions of the Vijayanagara Empire, is a testament to the rich heritage of the region. Organized by the Government of Karnataka, the event transforms Hampi into a vibrant hub of cultural activities, drawing visitors from near and far.

This year, the festival's grandeur is heightened with an inauguration by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on February 28. The festivities, spanning three days, aim to showcase the glory of the Vijayanagara Empire through various cultural displays and activities. The Housing Minister and Ballari District In-charge Minister, Zameer Ahmed Khan, confirmed the dates after discussions with the Chief Minister, marking the event as a significant occasion in the state's cultural calendar.
Preparations Underway for a Grand Celebration
Preparations for the festival are in full swing, with Ballari District Commissioner Divakar tasked with organizing the event. This year's celebration is scheduled slightly later than the previous year's, which took place from February 2 to 4. The shift to start the festival in March aims to accommodate the warmer weather, planning events primarily in the evenings to ensure a comfortable experience for all attendees.
The Hampi Utsav not only serves as a platform to celebrate Karnataka's rich history but also showcases the state's commitment to preserving and promoting its cultural heritage. The decision to hold the festival was solidified this morning, with Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan announcing the official dates and highlighting the event's significance. Last year's festival laid the groundwork for an even more spectacular celebration this time around, with expectations set high for an event that honors the past while embracing the present.
As the Hampi Utsav approaches, the anticipation builds for a festival that promises to be a blend of traditional celebration and modern festivities. With the Chief Minister himself inaugurating the event, it stands as a testament to the importance of Hampi Utsav in Karnataka's cultural landscape. Visitors can look forward to a range of activities and performances that reflect the grandeur of the Vijayanagara Empire, set against the backdrop of Hampi's historic beauty.
