Gold Chain Lost In Ganesh Visarjan: Bengaluru Couple’s 10-Hour Quest Ends Successfully
A couple accidentally immersed a Ganesh idol with a gold chain worth ₹4 lakh in a mobile immersion tank in Bengaluru. The gold chain was recovered after a 10-hour search, which involved pumping out nearly 10,000 liters of water and sifting through a thick layer of mud, as 300 other idols had dissolved.
The incident took place at Dasarahalli Circle in Vijayanagar. According to a TOI report, a youth who had assisted the couple with the immersion tracked down the jewelry and returned it to the family. The chain was found the following morning after the immersion occurred on Saturday evening.

The couple, Ramaiah and Umadevi, had adorned the Ganesh idol with a gold chain, flowers, and other decorations. They intended to remove the expensive jewelry before the immersion, but unfortunately, they forgot to do so. Upon returning home, they realized their mistake and rushed back to the mobile tank to locate their lost item.
The youth at the site had seen the chain with the idol but had mistaken it for an artificial piece. The couple then alerted the police and MLA Priya Krishna about the incident. Following the MLA's instructions, a search party of at least 10 people was organised. After a lengthy search, the gold chain was successfully recovered.
