Commuter's Metal Chain Stuck In Metro Door led to Brief Disruption of Services: BMRCL
A day after Purple Line metro services were briefly disrupted, the BMRCL on Friday said a preliminary probe found a commuter's metal chain had become lodged in the train door guideway, preventing them from closing.
The incident occurred on Thursday evening after the doors of a train at Cubbon Park Metro Station failed to close properly, resulting in temporary disruption to services between 7.36 pm and 7.54 pm, they said.

"The preliminary investigations carried out by the Operations and Maintenance teams revealed that a metal chain, belonging to a commuter, had become lodged in the train door guideway, preventing the doors from closing properly and resulting in the operational delay," the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited said in a statement.
According to BMRCL, A detailed examination of the train and its door systems has confirmed that there was no technical malfunction in the train equipment. "BMRCL places the highest priority on passenger safety. All necessary safety protocols were followed before the train was cleared for service. We remain committed to providing safe, reliable and efficient Metro services to the public," it added.
This was the second such disruption reported in a span of just two days. On June 23, metro services on the Purple line were disrupted during peak hours due to a technical snag in a train at Cubbon Park Metro Station.
The disruption had led to heavy crowding at several metro stations on the Purple Line, with several commuters getting stranded and being forced to look for alternative modes of transport, including autos and app-based cabs, to reach their destinations.
