Missing Office Address, Empty Apartment: The Curious Case Of Bengaluru CEO Suchana Seth Who Killed Her Son
A day after Suchana Seth, CEO of a Bengaluru AI startup, was arrested for allegedly murdering her son in Goa, new details emerged casting doubt on the company's address and raising questions about her recent movements.
Police discovered that the address listed for Seth's Mindful AI Lab led to a co-working space, not a specific office, as reported by The Indian Express.

Seth, arrested by the Goa Police in Karnataka's Chitradurga, had previously resided in an apartment in Bengaluru's Thanisandra. However, upon investigation, it was found that she had vacated the residence approximately four months ago.
Despite these discrepancies, Seth's online presence paints a picture of success. Her LinkedIn profile boasts over 12 years of data science experience and lauds her as a top "100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics 2021." She even held directorships at other AI firms.
The 39-year-old CEO also served as a director in a machine intelligence-based firm established in September 2020, which remained active. A Bengaluru police official informed a national daily that the Goa police had visited the company's office to gather information.
Seth held affiliations with prominent organizations like the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University, where she was regarded as an "AI ethics expert and data scientist." Additionally, she was a Mozilla Fellow at Data & Society and a research fellow at the Raman Research Institute.
The center's alumni page described Seth as a professional who crafted scalable data science solutions for startups and industry research labs, holding patents in text mining and natural language processing. The page highlighted her commitment to leveraging data for positive change and her advocacy for narrowing the gender gap in data science. Seth's past involvement as a Mozilla Open Web Fellow at Data & Society was also noted on the page, last updated in March 2020.
Seth, originally from West Bengal, was arrested with her four-year-old son's body concealed in one of her pieces of luggage. She and her husband had been living separately while undergoing divorce proceedings. Her distress over an unfavorable court ruling concerning her child's custody was also reported.
Her estranged husband, Venkat Raman from Kerala, was in Indonesia when the child was murdered. He has been requested by Superintendent of Police (North) Nidhin Valsan to come to Goa and provide a statement regarding the case.
Seth has been remanded to police custody for six days by a local Goa court.
