Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya Targets At Mallikarjun Kharge, Congress-Ruled States Over Poll Promises
Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya launched a critique against Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge and the leaders of Congress-governed states, accusing them of attempting to hide the truths Prime Minister Narendra Modi has unveiled about their party's empty assurances. Surya, through a message on 'X', accused the entire leftist sphere, including Kharge and the Congress state chief ministers, of striving to cover up the facts that Modi had laid bare.
He emphasized, "What Modi ji has highlighted is a living reality in Karnataka-the unsustainable freebie model has wreaked havoc on our state's developmental journey over the last 1.5 years, severely crippling our progress. What Mr Kharge himself admits in the viral video proves this fact."

Surya criticized the recent budget announced by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, suggesting that it prioritizes freebies at the expense of vital sectors. He alleged that such misallocation has led to a significant diversion of funds, with around Rs 13,000 crore meant for SC/ST development being used to finance these freebies, thereby hindering Bengaluru's infrastructure development.
He contrasted Siddaramaiah's budget, which he claims has a revenue deficit of more than Rs 12,000 crore, with the previous surplus budget presented by the former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.
In his discourse, Surya stated, "No matter how much Mr Kharge, the Deputy Chief Minister, or the Chief Minister try to deflect PM's message with loud rhetoric and name-calling, the call to be wary of Congress's false promises truly reflects the ground reality in Karnataka."
This statement points to a broader issue of political accountability and the impact of fiscal policies on state development. Surya's remarks highlight concerns over the economic strategies employed by the current administration in Karnataka, suggesting they may have detrimental effects on the region's growth and prosperity.
In conclusion, the controversy stirred by Tejasvi Surya's statements sheds light on the ongoing debate between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress over governance models and their implications for Karnataka's future.
Surya's allegations against the Congress-led government's budgetary priorities and their potential negative impact on development underscore the political divide on how best to achieve progress in the state. The discourse underlines the importance of scrutinizing political promises and their practical effects on the community's welfare.
