Bengaluru Power Cut Today: Electricity To Remain Off For 8 Hours In North West Bengaluru Areas

Several parts of Bengaluru are expected to face an eight hour power cut on February 25 as BESCOM carries out emergency maintenance work on electricity infrastructure. Power supply will remain suspended between 10 am and 6 pm in multiple localities, and residents are advised to plan their daily activities accordingly.

According to BESCOM, electricity services will be restored after the maintenance work is completed. However, the exact restoration time may vary depending on the progress of testing and safety checks in each area. Officials have urged residents not to rely on backup restoration timings and to prepare for the full duration of the scheduled outage.

Reason: Maintenance work at Hebbur Sub Division substation Officials said engineers will carry out equipment repairs, servicing and line upgrades during the shutdown window.

BESCOM has requested consumers to cooperate with field staff during the maintenance work and avoid unsafe use of alternate power sources during the outage.

The scheduled outage comes after several recent shutdowns linked to maintenance work by KPTCL in different parts of the city. Over the past few weeks, transmission infrastructure upgrades have led to daytime power cuts in areas such as HMT Road, RNS Apartment, CMTI, Bor Lingappa Garden, Peenya Police Station Road, Telephone Exchange, Ganapatinagar Main Road, Chamundipur, Muneshwar Temple Road, MC Layout, KHB Layout and Rajeshwarinagar.

Other affected areas during recent outages included Akash Theater Road, Bhairaveshwar Nagar, Bank Colony, Division Road, Rajagopal Nagar, GKW Layout and ESIC Hospital.

Officials have said that these planned outages are part of system upgrades aimed at strengthening supply lines and reducing unplanned disruptions in Bengaluru's growing residential and industrial areas.

With maintenance activities expected to continue in phases, residents are advised to stay updated on BESCOM power cut advisories and make necessary arrangements during outage hours.
