Bengaluru: Iconic Sri Krishna Bhavan Restaurant In Malleshwaram To Be Permanently Shut; Netizens Disappointed
The shutters will be down for Bengaluru's iconic hotel Sri Krishna Bhavan located in Malleshwaram soon. Thus leaving its loyal customers of decades disappointed.
A picture of the restaurant management announcing the news of the eatery being permanently closed from December 6 has now gone viral. The iconic eatery has now made way for a jewellery shop.

Established in 1954 by Gopinath Prabhu, New Krishna Bhavan on Sampige Road holds a special place in the hearts of Bengalurians. From the beloved 'button idly' and 'Kotte Kadubu' to the exquisite 'Mangaluru Neer Dosa,' the flavorful 'Green Masala Idly,' the delectable 'Salem Sambar Vada,' the delightful 'Udupi buns and Udupi Guliyappa,' to the timeless favourite, the 'Open butter masala dosa'-this eatery has earned a reputation for infusing the authentic flavours of Mangaluru into every dish it serves.
Last but not least, who can forget the unique 'Mandya Ragi Dosa'? At one time, the restaurant used to serve at least 3,000 meals a day.
The property has been sold to Bhima Jewellers, The Federal reported citing a source. "The property has been sold to Bhima Jewellers and soon there will spring up a swanky building, in stark contrast to what it is now. In any case, it's a win-win situation for the owners," a source told the website.
Netizens Reaction:

The fourth user claimed, "New Krishna Bhavan or NKB is one of the traditional and Iconic Restaurants of Bangalore. It still has a Good Patronage Surprising to learn that it is closing down on Dec 5. Sold to a jewelery chain."
"It is the end of an era today - Bangalore's iconic New Krishna Bhavan restaurant closing down and Charlie Munger passing on. May their legacy be remembered for generations to come. In many ways, we grew up with both of them. #NewKrishnaBhavanBangalore #NKB #charliemunger #Munger," another user opined.
"Such a bummer that new krishna bhavan is closing down. So many wonderful memories of eating here, feel bad that I couldn't make it this trip. Will definitely miss their buns, green idly, pooris, dosas, their meals to name a few," one more netizen added.
