Atul Subhash Suicide Case: I’m Innocent, Claims Nikita Singhania's Uncle After FIR Filed
Atul Subhash's suicide note contains unfounded accusations, and his estranged wife, Nikita Singhania, holds all the answers, according to her uncle, Sushil Singhania. Sushil, who is implicated in the case concerning Atul's suicide, stated that he has no involvement in the allegations made against them. The police have dispatched a team to Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, to interview Nikita, her mother Nisha, brother Anurag, and uncle Sushil.
In their initial response to the controversy surrounding Atul's death and the claims of harassment directed at Nikita and her family, the 70-year-old Sushil remarked, "I learned from media reports that I'm named in the FIR, but I have no ties to this. The divorce proceedings have been ongoing for three years, and this sudden situation is perplexing. Our family is innocent, and we have faith in the court's ruling."

He asserted that Atul's accusations are groundless, emphasizing that once Nikita returns, she will address all the allegations, as she is fully aware of the situation. "I live separately from Nikita; although I'm her uncle, I'm not deeply involved in the ongoing issues," he explained.
Earlier today, a police team visited the Singhanias' residence in Jaunpur, causing a stir in the neighborhood. An officer clarified that they were there to ensure the family's safety, denying any prior knowledge of Bengaluru police visiting.
Atul Subhash, a 34-year-old software engineer, was discovered deceased in his Bengaluru home on the morning of December 9. A 'justice is due' sign and a lengthy suicide note were found in his room, where he accused Nikita and others in her family of harassing him during their divorce proceedings, pressuring him for substantial financial support.
In a statement, Atul's brother Bikas Kumar reported that Atul's note detailed the mental and physical anguish he suffered at the hands of the accused.
Shivakumar, the Deputy Commissioner of Police for Whitefield, informed ANI, "Atul committed suicide in the early hours of December 9. A complaint has been filed at the Marathahalli police station in Bengaluru concerning this matter. He faced multiple legal challenges in Uttar Pradesh, where his wife and her family allegedly extorted money from him, leading to his tragic decision. An FIR has been registered against the accused based on this complaint, and the investigation is ongoing."
In a disturbing 81-minute video recorded prior to his death, Atul shared his story of marrying Nikita in 2019 after meeting her on a matchmaking platform. They welcomed a son the following year. He claimed that Nikita's family continuously requested large sums of money, and when he declined, she left their home with their child in 2021.
Atul mentioned that in 2022, Nikita filed legal actions against him and his family, alleging serious offenses and claiming that he demanded a dowry of 10 lakh rupees, which allegedly led to her father's death from a heart attack. He refuted this claim, noting that her father had been suffering from chronic health issues treated at AIIMS for over a decade, and the marriage was expedited because he was given only a few months to live.
Atul expressed that the demands from Nikita's family escalated from 1 crore to 3 crore rupees to settle the dispute. He recalled a courtroom exchange where, upon stating that men are driven to suicide by false cases, Nikita responded, "Then why don't you?" He added that during the hearing, the judge laughed and asked her to step out of the room, further recalling that the judge told him to "think about his family" while pressuring him for a bribe of 5 lakh rupees to resolve the matter.
Atul's suicide note contained strong criticisms of the justice system and how it manages marital conflicts. He lamented, "The harder I strive and improve in my work, the more harassment and extortion my family endures, and the legal system supports my aggressors. Now that I am gone, they won't have any money or reason to target my aging parents and brother. I might have ended my life, but in doing so, I have preserved my beliefs."
