Anurag Singhania, Brother-In-Law of Atul Subhash, Warns Reporters Over Camera Focusing His House

In a heart-wrenching incident from Bengaluru, a 34-year-old engineer named Atul Subhash ended his life on December 9, leaving behind a detailed 90-minute video and a 24-page suicide note. In these documents, he expressed the torment he faced due to continuous harassment from his estranged wife and her family, claiming his wife had filed nine cases against him. This tragic event has sparked a surge of discussions online, with many expressing their anger and grief over the circumstances leading to Subhash's death.

Following Subhash's suicide in his Bengaluru apartment, his brother, Bikas Kumar, lodged a complaint against Subhash's in-laws, leading the Bengaluru police to register an FIR. The complaint implicates Subhash's wife, Nikita Singhania, her mother, Nisha Singhania, her brother, Anurag Singhania, and her uncle, Sushil Singhania, under sections 108 and 3(5) of the BNS. This legal action underscores the serious allegations surrounding the engineer's untimely demise.

A now-viral video capturing a confrontation between Subhash's in-laws and reporters has further fueled the controversy. The footage features Nisha Singhania and her son Anurag Singhania aggressively challenging journalists from their balcony, insisting they turn off their cameras. When a reporter attempted to engage them for their side of the story, Anurag threatened, "Ham log khud aakar aap logon ko jawab denge, is tarah ka kaam karenge to bhaisahab galat ho jaega [We will come ourselves and answer your questions. If you continue to act like this, it will be wrong]." This interaction has led to widespread criticism online, with many condemning the family's hostile response to media inquiries.

The public's reaction to the news has been one of shock and dismay, with many turning to social media to express their opinions. A user on X (formerly Twitter) commented on the behavior of Subhash's in-laws, stating, "They're not shocked, they're not grieving, they're not even trying to defend themselves properly. Instead, they're attacking reporters, showing their arrogance, and acting like they're above it all." This sentiment has been echoed by others, who find the family's attitude and actions towards the situation and the press to be unacceptable and indicative of their disregard for the gravity of the situation.

In light of this tragedy, there have been calls for justice and accountability, with some advocating for the termination of Nikita Singhania's employment at Accenture. This movement underscores the community's demand for consequences and recognition of the alleged role Subhash's wife and her family played in his decision to end his life.
