‘4-Day, 3-Night Bengaluru Traffic Tour’? Ex-CFO Of Infosys Mohandas Pai’s Satirical Post Goes Viral
Bengaluru's traffic problems have once again sparked discussions on social media. Mohandas Pai, the former CFO of Infosys, shared a satirical post featuring an 'advertisement' for a "4-day, 3-night Bangalore traffic tourism" package.
The post highlighted some of the city's most congested areas, including Outer Ring Road, Silk Board Junction, Marathahalli, and HSR Layout, as tourist destinations. Sharing the image, Pai commented, "A sad joke on Bengaluru. At least we have a sense of humour about our suffering and an uncaring government."
The post quickly went viral on X, formerly known as Twitter, attracting mixed reactions from users. While some found it amusing, others were not pleased. One user pointed out, "Joke is not sad per se, but the fact that it's not written in Kannada might upset many!"
Others criticised Pai for frequently complaining without suggesting solutions. "You have been posting so many rants. What is your solution to Bengaluru's traffic problems? Build tunnels, elevated roads, flyovers, underpasses? Please come up with some practical suggestions," one user wrote. Another remarked, "You will always be in front to defame Bengaluru's name."

Some users shared ideas for addressing the city's traffic crisis. One suggested forming a committee of 25 prominent figures, led by Pai, to develop a comprehensive plan. "Just two roads for ITPL, how did it end up like this for six lakh people? Just four lanes? We need metro expansion, flyovers, ring roads, and new locations for industries," they added.
Earlier this month, Pai met with Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar to discuss Bengaluru's infrastructure development. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, he said, "I want him to be a hero for Bengalureans, take Bengaluru forward and make it the best city in the country."
Pai emphasised the need for better infrastructure, cleanliness, footpaths, and public transport, urging authorities to complete the metro rail project as soon as possible. He stated that Shivakumar assured him it would take six months to begin visible improvements in the city's infrastructure.
