24-Year-Old Software Engineer From Hassan Dies By Suicide In Bengaluru Hotel
A 24-year-old software engineer, Yagnik, who worked for a well-known IT company, tragically died by suicide in Bengaluru on Tuesday. Hailing from Sakleshpur in Hassan district, Yagnik had checked into a hotel in Neeladri Nagar, Electronics City, on August 16 to take an MTech exam in the city.
According to the police, Yagnik ended his life by inhaling helium gas, which is commonly used in balloons. After working from home for several months, he arrived in Bengaluru and booked the hotel room in his name. Investigations revealed that he left the hotel briefly, purchased a helium gas container from Peenya, and returned to his room, where he used the gas to take his life.

When Yagnik failed to check out by noon, the hotel staff discovered his body in the room and immediately informed the police. His body was sent to Saint John's Hospital for a postmortem examination.
DCP (South East) Saarah Fathima confirmed that Yagnik had inhaled the gas through a pipe. She noted that the exact reason for the suicide remains under investigation, though a possible love angle is being explored. The police plan to gather more information by speaking with Yagnik's family, friends, and colleagues.
The Electronics City Police have launched further investigations into the case.
