Karnataka government tables CBI report on D K Ravi death, BJP cries foul
T B Jayachandra tabled the report on behalf of Home Minister Dr Parameshwara and told the house that D K Ravi committed suicide due to mental pressure
The Karnataka government on Saturday tabled the CBI closure report in IAS officer D K Ravi case. Law Minister T B Jayachandra called it a case of suicide quoting the CBI report.
T B Jayachandra tabled the report on behalf of Home Minister Dr Parameshwara and told the house that D K Ravi committed suicide due to mental pressure. "As recorded in the CBI report, the opinion expressed by medical experts, forensic science lab report and statement of evidence during the investigation, IAS officer D K Ravi committed suicide under mental pressure," Jayachandra told the assembly.

Leader of opposition Jagadish Shettar however, accused the government of handing over the case to the CBI after evidence had been destroyed. The CBI filed its closure report in the sensational death of the IAS officer on November 24 and submitted the report to sub divisional magistrate. The report was accepted as and case was closed on November 26 under section 176 of CrPC.
