Government gives the nod for Rs 1,756 crore road project in Gujarat

The project is estimated at Rs 1,756.36 crore.
The CCEA met the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Tuesday and approved the development of the road project on National Highway- 8E.
Of the proposed 209.89 km highway, 119.7 km will be four-laned and 90.19 km will be a two lane with paved shoulders.
According to official statement released, the entire project, starting from the cost of land acquisition, resettlement and rehabilitation and all other pre-construction activities amounts to Rs 1,756.36 crores.
The project will pave a new path in the development and the infrastructure of the state. The statement also said that the development of this stretch will help in the upliftment of the socio-economic condition of this region and also increase employment for the local people.
