Monsoon rains lash most parts of India

Bangalore, Sept 2: Rain and thundershowers have lashed many parts of the country, which include most places over West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam and Meghalaya and Andaman and Nicobar islands; at many places over east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Kerala.

Some of the other places that received heavy rainfall include east Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, northcoastal Andhra Pradesh and Lakshadweep and isolated places over Uttarakhand, west Uttar Pradesh, south Gujarat and interior Tamil Nadu. Rest of the country, however, remained dry.

The above-mentioned states would have similar weather conditions in the next three days. Heavy monsoon rain is likely to occur at isolated places over South Interior Karnataka during next 24 hours.
