Car catches fire outside Parliament, police rule out foul play

Car catches fire outside Parliament
New Delhi, Sept 2: A car mysteriously caught fire outside the Parliament house here on Monday. Firefighters doused the flames and Delhi Police later ruled out any foul play in the incident. No casualty was reported.

The incident raised concern since the Parliament is in session at the moment and the area is not far from the Rashtrapati Bhavan. The reason of the fire in the Tata vehicle was not confirmed although police said it was caused by a technical snag. They were also trying to trace the driver/owner of the vehicle.

The driver/owner of the car could not be traced even 45 minutes after the fire

Questions were being raised about a lack of coordination between the fire department, police and security agencies for the car was seen burning in the area for nearly 15 minutes.
