Blackmail of girl in Facebook lands youth in jail

Ranchi, May 31: A Ranchi youth was on May 30 arrested after he allegedly posted an objectionable photo of a girl he knew in the Facebook, the police said here.

The police swung into action, arrested him and produced him before a local court which sent him in 14 days judicial remand, the sources said.

The girl lodged a complaint with the police that the youth had been blackmailing her for some time through the objectionable photograph and then loaded it in the social site after she refused his marriage proposal, the sources said.

Initially, she was hesitant to inform her family members of her trauma. But when the youth posted the photo through a fake facebook account, she reached out to the police for help against the youth. He hails from Adelhatu village situated on the outskirts of Ranchi.
