Priyanka Gandhi to contest poll against cousin Varun:Sources
According to Congress sources, senior party leaders have been grooming one of its crucial trump cards -- Priyanka Gandhi for the mega war. If sources are to be believed then the party would announce their decision soon.
Priyanka may contest from Sultanpur, a constituency from where her cousin and BJP leader Varun Gandhi is all set to contest during the next general election.
It is believed that Priyanka's sudden activities in micro-blogging site Twitter and social networking site Facebook are the initiatives which she has taken to build a strong platform reaching out to aam-aadmi (common man).
However, it was not confirmed when the Congress party would announce its decision on Priyanka. The daughter of the Gandhi family had left an impressive note on people's mind during her poll campaigning for her brother Rahul and mother Sonia Gandhi.
Despite Congress' defeat in Uttar Pradesh during assembly elections in 2011, many were impressed with Priyanka's presence.
Earlier it was reported that BJP would ask Varun to contest from Sultanpur which is close to Amethi and Rae Bareli, the two constituencies represented by his cousin brother Rahul Gandhi and aunt Sonia Gandhi respectively.
Fight between Priyanka and Varun would be interesting to see in Sultanpur, a constituency which once had been represented by Varun's father Sanjay Gandhi.
