Chaos at Siddaramaiah's swearing-in, 1 dead

A 50 year-old Congress supporter identified as Manjappa, a city resident, collapsed near gate number seven while coming out after the function attended by nearly 50,000 Congress supporters from across the state. He was given water to drink, after which he complained of chest pain and was immediately rushed to a private hospital just opposite the stadium where he was declared brought dead. "It could have been a massive heart attack but the actual cause of death will be ascertained only after the post-mortem is conducted", police said.
A large number of people turning up for the ceremony, leading to a chaotic situation. The deceased was admitted to Vittal Mallya hospital in a critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries.
Siddaramaiah, after the oath-taking, said, "We would work on overall development and progress of state ensuring equality for all."
K Siddaramaiah, who led the Congress' battle against BJP Government's corruption in Karnataka, took oath as the chief minister of Karnataka on Monday in Kanteerava stadium.
