Modi may have long campaign period in Karnataka

's campaign schedule for the Assembly elections.

An apparent low morale of the party has made the top leadership increase the days of Modi campaign in Karnataka. Modi had five days campaign for the Assembly polls in 2008 and three days for the general elections in 2009.

The Gujarat chief minister's Karnataka visit will begin two weeks before the polling date, to deliver the maximum impact.

Modi is likely to hold three campaign meetings in Bangalore and the rest would be spread over coastal and central Karnataka and young voters would be his target audience.

Others bank on glamour

Meanwhile, the glamour quotient is becoming more pronounced with the political parties.

BSR Congress floated by the former BJP Minister B Sriramulu today nominated Kannada actresses Pooja Gandhi and Rakshita Prem to contest from Raichur and Chamarajanagar.

Pooja has been on party hopping for the last few months. She first joined the JDS and then went with B S Yeddyurappa's Karnataka Janata Paksha (KJP) for a brief spell before joining the BSR Congress.

Rakshita was a leading actress in Sandalwood and became home-maker after she married director Prem.

On the other hand, the Congress is yet to nominate film star but has enlisted the service of leading ladies Ramya and Bhavana, and may also call actor Darshan for campaign.

Veteran star Ambareesh, who may contest from Mandya, is no stranger to the campaign.
