President calls Thackeray to inquire about health

, called up ailing Sena chief

to inquire about his health.

The phone call from the President came yesterday afternoon, sources at the Thackeray residence 'Matoshree' said.

Sena mouthpiece 'Saamna' today published news of the President making detailed inquiries about Thackeray's health.

86-year-old Thackeray could not attend the annual Shiv Sena Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park on Wednesday owing to ill health and addressed the party workers through a video message, in which he said he was feeling "weary" and unwell.

During his visit to the city after being elected as the President, Mukherjee had met Thackeray to thank him for his support.
