Sonia Gandhi talks tough, cracks whip on Congress MPs

New Delhi, May 9:

on Wednesday warned Congress MPs to start preparing for the 2014 General Elections adding that any indiscipline will not be tolerated.

The Congress Party President's comments came during a crucial meeting of the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP). The meeting was held for the first time after Congress' poor performance in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

Sonia in the meeting also asked the party members to refrain themselves from publicly speaking regarding party policies and also the decisions taken by the central leadership.

Hitting at the opposition parties, she said that it has become fashionable for them to criticise the government.

The meeting was attended by the party's top leadership including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi and Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee.

Sonia Gandhi also revealed the party's strategy for the forthcoming Presidential and Vice Presidential elections. A document named 'Vision 2014' was also released by her.
