Avalanche buries over 100 Pakistani soldiers in Siachen

Islamabad, Apr 7: The army spokesperson on Saturday, Apr 7, revealed that an avalanche smashed into a Pakistani army base and buried over 100 Pakistani soldiers near the Siachen Glacier.

"At six o'clock this morning this avalanche hit a (military) headquarters. Over 100 soldiers and personnel are trapped," claimed a spokesman Major-General Athar Abbas.

The rescue teams are under way in the remote area near Siachen Glacier that is situated in the eastern part of Line of Control. Meanwhile, more soldiers have died due to the frigid weather.
