Tatra Truck
Bangalore, Apr 4: The investigative agency - Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday, Apr 4 raided offices of Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) over Tatra Truck Deal. Investigating into the alleged irregularities in the deal between Tatras and the Indian army, the CBI seized papers related to the deal from BEML's Bangalore office.

BEML's Chairman & Managing Director, VRS Natarajan is likely to be grilled by the CBI. The investigative official soon may approach the defence ministry seeking help to study all contracts between Tatra Sipox UK and BEML, and BEML and the ministry over the past 20 years.

The investigative agency earlier had quizzed Ravi Rishi, the owner of Vectra and he also has a major stake in Tatra Czech. According to sources, BEML may face trouble if reports prove that the company (BEML) officials were aware of the fact that Sipox UK was not an original manufacturer of the all-terrain vehicles supplied to the defence forces.

CBI officials also suspected that Ravi Rishi's statement that Tatra Sipox UK is a marketing arm of Tatra Czech might be proved as a false statement.
