Urination photo irks Frenchman; sues Google over views

France, Mar 2: A Frenchman took Google to court for allegedly publishing a photo online by its street view application, that showed him urinating.

According to the man, who lives in Maine-et-Loire region, France, ever since the photo came out, he has become the laughing stock in his village alleging that though his picture has been blurred, locals have recognised him.

Apart from getting his picture removed, he also demanded 10,000 euros ($13,300) in damages.

"Everyone has the right to a degree of secrecy," said his lawyer, Jean-Noel Bouillard.

"In this particular case, it's more amusing than serious. But if he'd been caught kissing a woman other than his wife, he would have had the same issue."

Google Inc.'s Street View, which covers 30 countries, enables Google Map users to view pictures of street captured through its camera cars, which has camera's wound around on frames on their roofs.

Meanwhile, Google's lawyer appealed that the case be declared invalid.
