Delhi: IT major TCS, MEA unveil passport seva kendra

New Delhi, Feb 24: The country's top outsourcing firm Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in partnership with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has lunched a centre for application and issuance of passport in New Delhi.

Earlier, on Oct 2008, the IT major had bagged the mission mode e-governance project, Passport Seva Project from the Ministry of External Affairs Ministry for 7 years.

Meanwhile, the project aims to speed up the process of issuing of new passport to three working days, subject to police verification.

TCS CEO and Managing Director N Chandrasekaran said, "mission-mode e-governance projects like Passport Seva Project showcase's how effectively a partnership model can work to provide technology-led, citizen-centric best-in-class services to Indian citizens. We are delighted to partner with the MEA in this important national initiative."
