Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar arrives in Pakistan

Kumar is scheduled to meet President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Mirza, the Speaker of the National Assembly or lower house of parliament, and Farooq Naek, the Chairman of the Senate or upper house of parliament, during her visit.
The delegation accompanying Kumar includes six parliamentarians, including former ministers B P Baishya and Shahnawaz Hussain. The delegation will also travel to Lahore to meet Punjab Governor Latif Khosa, Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and the Speaker of the provincial assembly.
The delegation will participate in a meeting of the Women's Caucus, meet members of the Pakistan-India Parliamentary Friendship Group and visit the Buddhist heritage site of Taxila.
