Major fire at Chennai airport, NO security to travellers?

Chennai Airport
Chennai, Jan 10: A major fire broke out at Chennai International Airport which is also known as Anna International Airport. Fire broke out on Monday, Jan 9. Two major fire accidents within one month raised question about the proper security measure provided by the airport authorities.

However, officials of fire brigade engines rushed the place where the fire broke out and managed to control the fire with prompt action. It has been suspected that short circuit might have caused the fire which engulfed the hangar at the airport. The incident, fortunately, did not cause a major loss as the place is being used to keep some coast guard aircraft.

Here it can be mentioned that similar kind of fire broke out at the car parking area of the Chennai international airport on Nov 25. [Read: Fire in Chennai airport creates chaos among travellers]

Here it also can be recalled that a combined team recently conducted an 'exercise' at the Chennai airport, to analyse the preparedness of various agencies, including the Airports Authority of India (AAI) and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), in the event of an emergency.
