Jagan's mother to finish yatra in the face of son's arrest
Also in his tour schedule is his participation in a dharna against the government's failure to reimburse the fees to eligible students on Jan 4 at Ongole. He will then proceed towards his Odarpu Yatra in Guntur district.
As per sources, the Enforcement Directorate that is probing Jagan's illegal wealth is expected to freeze the accounts of Jagati Publications, publisher of the Telugu daily Sakshi in the coming days. There are also rumours doing the rounds that Vijayamma, mother of Jagan and Pulivendula legislator will finish the Odarpu Yatra and take over party affairs, in case of his arrest.
Jagan's party spokesperson has been quoted as saying, “It (arrest of Jagan Mohan Reddy) is going to be a blessing in disguise for the YSR party. There has been criticism of Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy over his autocratic style of functioning and there is also a rethinking in the party cadre about the news reports appearing in a section of the media that one day or the other, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy will rejoin the Congress. All this will end once he is arrested, and it is going to create a new beginning in state politics.”
Another senior Congress leader commented on the impending arrest, “We have reports that Jagan Mohan Reddy’s influence is waning with each passing day, but in the long run, nothing is going to damage the Congress as elections are still two and a half years away.”
The arrest of close-aide of Jagan, Vijay Sai Reddy was seen as a shocker as he was a close partner, advisor as well as his financial consultant. He was extremely close to the YSR family since the last 3 decades. He was also the personal auditor of Jagan's father and former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
