Mumbai: Man tried to save friends from eve-teasers, dies

Mumbai, Nov 2: 29-year-old Reuben Fernandez, who fought for his friends with eve-teasers, died at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Andheri, Mumbai on Tuesday, Nov 1.

Fernandez, who was stabbed by four people eleven days before following a clash over eve-teasing, succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday.

Fernandez's friend, 24-year-old Keenan Santos also died in the same fight. According to sources, the two deceased along with five other friends including three girls were waiting outside a pan shop in Andheri on Oct 20.

Meanwhile, four drunken men started tempering the girls and the two groups engaged in the deadly fight in which Fernandez and Santosh were stabbed brutally. The four accused are currently in police custody.
