Telangana: TRS President KCR taken into preventive custody

Hyderabad, Oct 15: As if the Telangana turmoil in Andhra Pradesh was not escalating enough, the agitation took an ugly turn when Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhar Rao was taken into preventive custody. His son, K T Rama Rao and daughter are also believed to be in preventive custody.

Various pro-Telangana groups had planned a massive 3-day rail roko agitation as part of their demand for a separate state. Sources within the TRS had revealed that the party president K Chandrasekhar Rao has called on all ministers to quit in support of a separate statehood. Congress MPs from the region are defying the party diktat and protesting as well.

Earlier the Andhra CM Kiran Kumar Reddy had said that violence will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against those practicing the same.
