Newspapers out of reach in Hyderabad

Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad, Sept 29: The whole Andhra Pradesh state on Thursday (Today) morning went without newspapers as hawkers joined the ongoing general strike for a separate Telangana state.

English, Hindi, Telugu, Urdu newspapers were missing from newspaper shops across the state.

Later, police stopped hawkers in Secunderabad Clock Tower from taking out a bike rally in support of Telangana strike to Telangana martyrs' memorial which is near the state assembly.

The police arrested Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) convener M Kodandaram who reached Secunderabad Clock Tower to support the hawkers.

"This is unjust. You are creating unnecessary problems. Allow me to address them and we will disperse," Kodandaram told police officers.

Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhara Rao condemned the Joint Action Committee convener's arrest and demanded his immediate release.
