Revenge time: 'Corrupt' Anna sends legal notice to Cong man

New Delhi, Sep 8: A humble apology from the Congress man - Manish Tiwari seems to have failed to impress Anna Hazare as the 74-year-old Gandhian crusader indeed sent a legal notice to him (Tiwari).

Following the instruction of Anna, his lawyer Milind Pawar on Thursday, Sep 8 sent the notice to Congress man who called "corrupt from head to toe."

The notice asked Tiwari to "apologise with written application by you (Tiwari) and on behalf of your party (Congress), undertaking not to commit such false imputations and defamatory statements (about Hazare) in future."

Anna's lawyer earlier had vowed to drag Tiwari to court and now it seems that he has stepped forward to fulfill his words. Pawar had said, "We will file a case against Manish Tewari under IPC Section 500 for the defamatory remarks made by him against Hazare on August 14, describing him as a corrupt person at a public forum."

Here it can be recalled that Tiwari had hurled the first attack on Anna Hazare as he (Tiwari) stated, "Anna has violated basic courtesy and has a lot to answer."

He (Tiwari) had further said that Justice Sawant Commission report on corruption also named Anna Hazare and asked why he did not respond to the charges. Congress also said that Anna's birthday celebration by his trust was illegal and Anna himself was corrupt.

Tiwari continuing his attack on Anna, had stated, "The Sawant Commission ripped apart the moral core of Hazare as it found him steeped in corruption from head to toe." However, the Congress party later had taken a U-turn by calling a "Hero".
