Justice Sen saved? Lok Sabha says NO to impeachment

New Delhi, Sep 5: Finally, Justice Soumitra Sen has been saved. The Lok Sabha took a u-turn by claiming that it won't proceed with Sen's impeachment process on Monday, Sep 5.

It was claimed earlier that the government is unlikely to pass the Impeachment motion against Justice Soumitra Sen in the Lok Sabha. Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar is expected to seek the views of all parties on Monday, on whether to proceed with the impeachment of Sen in the Lok Sabha.

Sen had resigned as judge and his resignation was accepted. On Sunday night, Sep 4, the speculation of dropping Sen's impeachment strengthened as the govt took the unusual step of notifying his resignation.
