Supporters warn against movies on Anna Hazare

Anna Hazare
Mumbai, Sep 4: Anna Hazare's support group The Bhrashtachari Virodhi Jan Andolan (TBVJA) have issued a letter to producers association and requested them not to make any movies or serials on the life of the veteran or his movement.

The letter which was written in Marathi suggested that the organisation would not allow any movie or television serial to have Mee Anna Hazare or Main Anna Hazare in the title. The group also objected to any movie or serial to have a character named or inspired by the septuagenarian.

Allauddin Shaikh, Maharashtra Secretary of TBVJA said that the letter was issued to prevent any misrepresentation of the anti corruption crusader.

Vikas Mohan, Vice President, producer's association also confirmed that he received a letter last week. Jayprakash Bhande, a member of the organisation himself is making a movie on Anna Hazare.

"We are sure that Bhande, having been an active part of Hazare's movement, will be able to represent him well. Also, the profits of his films will go to some social cause," said Shaikh defending Bhande.
